Golfers, businesses and community supporters are invited to hit the course for a meaningful cause as Field Fastener hosts its 4th Annual Golf Playday to Improve Lives benefitting United Way of Florence County.

The fundraiser will take place on Wednesday, May 20, at the Country Club of South Carolina, located at 3525 McDonald Blvd. in Florence, with check-in beginning at 10 a.m.

The Golf Playday has grown into a signature community event that combines friendly competition with philanthropy. The event supports United Way of Florence County’s mission to strengthen lives through strategic partnerships, nonprofit collaboration and direct investment in community programs, and all proceeds will benefit the organization’s work to address some of the area’s most pressing challenges.

“We’re excited to host the Playday each year because it’s a great opportunity to get our team out in the community, support a meaningful cause, and raise funds that make a real difference. It’s also just a fun day for everyone involved – a chance to connect, enjoy some golf, and give back at the same time,” said Richard “Rich” Rowlett, General Manager at Field Fastener. “We’ve been excited to see the event grow year after year, and we can’t wait to see how it continues to build in the future.”

United Way of Florence County brings together community members, nonprofits, businesses, volunteers and local leaders to create measurable change across the county. Through its Collective Impact approach, the organization aligns resources and partnerships to tackle issues affecting youth opportunity, community mental health and financial security.

Cameron Campbell, President of United Way of Florence County, said the Golf Playday continues to demonstrate the power of local partnerships.

“We’re incredibly grateful to Field Fastener for stepping up again this year to support our community through this Golf Playday fundraiser,” said Campbell. “Events like this do more than bring people together for a great day on the course—they directly impact the lives of individuals and families across Florence County. Every team that participates and every sponsor that contributes helps amplify our work.”

Last year’s event raised more than $20,000 to support local United Way of Florence County initiatives. Organizers hope to continue building momentum by increasing participation and sponsorship support for this year’s tournament.

Registration is open through May 8. Community members are encouraged to gather a team, support the cause and spend a day making a difference on and off the course.
