ABOUT US

What is United Way of Florence County?

Established in 1954, United Way of Florence County is a local 501(c)(3) organization that connects resources between Florence County residents, businesses, nonprofits, and government agencies to create lasting, positive change in our community. Through our new Collective Impact Model, we aim to FACE our community's most critical issues by...

  • To positively impact the needs of our community by strengthening relationships, programs, and services that produce measurable results and improve the quality of life for our community.

  • To be recognized as the leading health and human services support agency in the Pee Dee through resource development and community impact initiatives.

  • United Way of Florence County recognizes structural racism, ethnic discrimination and other forms of oppression have contributed to racial disparities that have existed in the past and persist in the present. We acknowledge those inequities are the result of policies and practices that work to marginalize entire populations of people. We unequivocally denounce racism/ethnic discrimination because it undermines the well-being and vitality of individuals and our community.

United Way of Florence County seeks to dismantle disparities and strives to engage residents and community members, especially those whose voices have been marginalized, in the shared work of fortifying equity and empowerment. We value every person’s unique perspective and experience and strive to use input from others to advance our mission and our work for the education, health, and financial stability of every person in every community that we serve.

  • United Way of Florence County is committed to ensuring that our website is accessible to everyone, including individuals with disabilities. We believe all members of our community should have equal access to the information, resources, and opportunities we provide.
