CAMPAIGN TOOLKIT

Whether you are a small business, major corporation, or nonprofit, you can join over 20 corporate partners across our county standing with United Way to address our communities’ most profound challenges through a workplace campaign.

RUNNING A CAMPAIGN: STEP-BY-STEP

Use these steps to access materials, checklists, and resources to guide you through your campaign.

    1. Confirm campaign participation with your United Way of Florence County representative, Tracy Schroeder (tschroeder@uwflorence.org)

    2. Secure CEO/Senior Management support

    3. Recruit a campaign team and assign roles

    4. Attend Campaign Coordinator Training

    5. Meet with Tracy to begin planning

    6. Review last year’s campaign results (if applicable)

    7. Set new goals (dollar amount, participation rate, etc.)

    8. Determine campaign start and end dates (ideally 1–2 weeks)

    9. Plan and schedule key events:

      • Kickoff event

      • United Way staff presentation

      • Special fundraising events

    10. Gather campaign materials:

      • Pledge forms (paper or online)

      • Campaign video

      • Marketing and promotional materials about United Way initiatives

    11. Engage company leadership to help promote the campaign

    12. Plan donor incentives or giveaways

    1. Launch the campaign with kickoff event and announcement email:

      • Include access to pledge forms, campaign video, and marketing and promotional materials about United Way initiatives

      • Offer incentives for early/consistent participation

      • Incorporate personal stories (e.g., why YOU give to United Way)

    2. Send regular updates to staff (progress toward goal, upcoming events, reminders)

    3. Hold special events to boost engagement and morale

    4. Take and share photos/videos from events and your workplace

    5. Communicate with Tracy about any challenges or needs

    1. Send final reminder about pledge submission deadline

    2. Collect and submit all pledges Follow up on corporate/leadership gifts

    3. Thank all donors via email, letter, or celebration event

    4. Recognize campaign team, leadership givers, and volunteers

    5. Announce campaign results internally

    6. Meet with Tracy to evaluate results and provide feedback

    7. Promote volunteer opportunities and keep year-round engagement going
