YOUTH ACTIVITIES

our vision

A community where all children and youth learn, achieve, and succeed, supported by strong families and engaged communities.

    • Children and youth (birth through age 18) have increased access to high-quality learning opportunities and activities.

    • Youth build character development and leadership skills that help reduce risky behaviors.

    • Children demonstrate improved reading, language, math, science, and overall developmental skills.

    • Families and communities are better connected to resources that support learning and healthy development.

Youth Opportunity

why it matters

Youth activities play a critical role in supporting healthy development, academic success, and long-term stability. Community input has made this need clear: more than half of community conversations identified activities for youth as a major concern. When children and youth have access to safe, enriching learning opportunities outside the classroom, they are more likely to build essential academic, social, and life skills.

Investing in youth activities strengthens families, supports educators, and builds a stronger, more prepared future workforce for the entire community.

OUR STRATEGIES TO FACE THESE ISSUES

Fund

Fund programs that reduce summer learning loss and chronic absenteeism, strengthen basic academic skills for students below grade level, and provide diverse, flexible educational options that meet the needs of all learners.

ADVOCATE

Support community efforts to improve access to equitable learning opportunities and activities for children and youth, particularly during the summer and in rural areas.

COLLABORATE

Collaborate with various communities and agencies to exchange ideas, leverage resources, and drive collective action to better meet the needs of children and youth.

EDUCATE

Highlight the importance of quality summer and afterschool programs that promote and support the development of children and youth.
