Financial Security
why it matters
In Florence County, meeting basic needs is a daily challenge for far too many families. 49% of households live below the ALICE threshold, meaning more than half of our community is either living in poverty or working but unable to afford essentials like housing, utilities, food, and transportation.
Housing instability remains a major pressure point, with rent and electric assistance accounting for 52% of all 211 calls in 2023.
Families and service providers shared the same message during our community conversations: without reliable access to housing support and emergency assistance, households remain stuck in crisis.
OUR STRATEGIES TO FACE THESE ISSUES

Programs that provide emergency assistance for rent, utilities, and shelter.
Opportunities that restore hope and stability to clients as they move from emergency needs to self-sufficiency.
