
Ned Blake
Florence County School District 3
During the past 26 years, Ned Blake has been very fortunate to educate and inspire
students in Florence School District Three. He currently serves as the Director of Secondary
Education. Prior to his current assignment, Mr. Blake served as the principal of Lake City High
School for four years. Before accepting that position, he served as the principal of J. Paul
Truluck Middle School for another four years. Additionally, he has served as an assistant
principal, teacher, athletic coach and youth specialist in Florence School District Three. During
his tenure, students and teachers have received various awards of merit both locally and
nationally. Likewise, J. Paul Truluck Middle School received recognitions for academic
achievement and improvement from the SC State Department of Education consecutive years
under his leadership.
Mr. Blake received his Bachelors of Science Degree in Elementary Education from Claflin
University in 1999, Masters of Educational Administration from the University of South Carolina
in 2007. Most recently, he received his Educational Specialist Degree in School District
Leadership (Superintendency) from Arkansas State University in 2021.
Mr. Blake is married to the former Nina Montgomery where they have two kids, Baileigh
and Evans.
The highlight of his career has been giving students an opportunity to invigorate their
academics while becoming productive citizens. His philosophy is simple: “Students can become
a champion in and outside of the classroom if they are committed, industrious and enthusiastic
about their learning”
