Contessa Bradley

Contessa Rene Johnson-Bradley is currently employed as the Assistant Principal at J. Paul Truluck Creative Arts and Science Magnet School. A Florence native and South Florence High School graduate, she holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of South Carolina, a Master’s in Education from Lesley University, and an Education Specialist degree from Arkansas State University.

She served as a teacher at Lake City High School from 2007 to 2024, leading courses in Child Development, Computers, Personal Finance, and Entrepreneurship. She was also the Career and Technology Department Chair, Parent Liaison, mentor, and FSD3 District Teacher of the Year (2022–2023).

Raised by her grandparents, Daisy and Eugene Johnson, who instilled in her a love of education and hard work, Contessa draws from her background in business, education, and community service to inspire her students. She previously directed the Sylvan Learning Center, owned Mi-Contessa Fashions, and worked in the finance and education sectors before entering teaching through PACE Alternative Certification. She and her husband, James Bradley, have three children — Shadaris Bradley, Jason English, and Sydney Bradley — and six grandchildren.
