United Way 211 Report for August 2019

During the month of August, the United Way 211 line for Florence County had 116 calls with 198 referrals made. Of those referrals, the Top 3 requests were for Utilities Assistance, Rental Assistance, and Community Shelters. The Top 3 providers recommended were Lighthouse Ministries, The Salvation Army, and the Pee Dee Community Action Agency. UWFC Celebrates 65th Birthday

Although we were known then as the "United Fund of Greater Florence" our mission to provide necessary health and human services to those in need in our community remains the same. read more

Seminar Pint Night Raises $180 for United Way

September 30, 2019

Seminar Brewing hosted their second Pint Night fundraiser to benefit the United Way of Florence County on Friday, August 30th. For every pint sold during the event, Seminar would donate $1 to the United Way's 2019-2020 campaign. Through the number of pints sold and through individual donations, Seminar Brewing raised over $180 for the United Way during the fundraiser! read more

Results from the 2019 Day of Caring

September 23, 2019

Over 400 volunteers rolled up their sleeves and got to work at local non-profits across Florence on Friday, September 20, 2019 as part of the United Way of Florence County’s annual Day of Caring event. Now in its 27th year, the UWFC’s Day of Caring event brings together volunteers from local companies, organizations, and groups to give back to their community by volunteering. During Friday’s event, a record number of 40 companies and groups had volunteers completing over 79 volunteer projects. read more
