211 is a vital service operated and funded, in part, by local United Ways that is leveraged by millions of people across North America. Every day, clients contact 211 to access free and confidential counseling services and assistance programs that help with a wide-range of needs. In addition to providing support for those in need, 211 allows United Way to identify service gaps, unmet needs, under-served populations, and common determinants that often lead to crisis.

The phone lines and online access areas are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week and are available in over 180 different languages.
