What We Do

To help positively impact the needs of Florence County, we fund 30 programs through 22 local non-profits that are providing services in the education, health, and financial stability service sectors. To fund these programs, we raise money through our annual campaign by holding company campaigns in local businesses, hosting fundraisers, and collecting individual donations.

To maximize our impact in the community, a group of dedicated, local volunteers, known as the Community Investment Committee, evaluates funding requests based on proven needs and allocates donations where they are needed most. After that,  United Way follows up regularly to ensure that those donations are being used properly. Beyond our work in fundraising, the United Way of Florence County also has the United Way 211 program to connect individuals in need with help, and the Volunteer Corps program for those interested in volunteering with non-profits.
