Our Mission

To positively impact the needs of our community by strengthening relationships, programs, and services that produce measurable results and improve the quality of life.

Our Vision

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Statement

To be recognized as the leading health and human services support agency in the Pee Dee through resource development and community impact initiatives.

United Way of Florence County recognizes structural racism, ethnic discrimination and other forms of oppression have contributed to racial disparities that have existed in the past and persist in the present. We acknowledge those inequities are the result of policies and practices that work to marginalize entire populations of people. We unequivocally denounce racism/ethnic discrimination because it undermines the well-being and vitality of individuals and our community.

United Way of Florence County seeks to dismantle disparities and strives to engage residents and community members, especially those whose voices have been marginalized, in the shared work of fortifying equity and empowerment. We value every person’s unique perspective and experience and strive to use input from others to advance our mission and our work for the education, health, and financial stability of every person in every community that we serve.

Our Focus

To help positively impact the needs of Florence County, we fund 30 programs through 22 local non-profits that are providing services in the education, health, and financial stability service sectors. To fund these programs, we raise money through our annual campaign by holding company campaigns in local businesses, hosting fundraisers, and collecting individual donations.
