Give an hour. Give a Saturday. Give your best. We all have special talents. Things we can do to help. And when we reach out a hand to one, we influence the condition of all. Whether it’s reading to children, or leading financial literacy classes for hard-working families, or delivering meals to homebound seniors, there are hundreds of volunteer options available every day.
Give the gift of you. Volunteer.
The truth about volunteering is there are really TWO types of volunteers that are needed.
The first type are volunteers who dedicate their time regularly to a cause - if you are interested in volunteering on a regular, scheduled basis, please contact us and we will be happy to connect you with one of our partner agencies who are constantly in need of volunteers. To see a list of some of the long-term volunteer opportunities, click here.
The second type are volunteers who can help when a large group of people are needed - this can be for events, fund-raisers, clinics... there are numerous times throughout the year when local non-profits need help from more than their regular volunteer base. This is the gap the United Way of Florence is committed to filling.
In conjunction with the Florence Visitor's & Convention Bureau, the United Way of Florence County coordinates the Volunteer Corps of Florence County.
Are you a professional, student or retiree who does not have time to volunteer "all the time," but would like to help out when you can? Then... the Volunteer Corps is right for you!
We are seeking to bring together individuals who are civically-minded, but, because of their schedules, do not have time to volunteer all the time. By joining the Volunteer Corps, you agree to receive period "Calls to Action" about short-term or one-time volunteer opportunities in support of local Florence County non-profits.
Get connected by liking our Facebook page here or joining our monthly email list to receive alerts about upcoming volunteer opportunities.
Help us help our local non-profits meet the growing needs of our community.
