Volunteer Income Tax Assistance or VITA is a broad-based collaboration dedicated to promoting the financial stability for low and moderate income individuals and families of Florence County. Volunteers file taxes for individuals and families in Florence County that make a total household income of less than $49,000.
The VITA program is not available for the 2011 tax season, but will be available in 2012. If you are interested in volunteering for the 2012 tax season, please contact

Earned Income Tax Credit
The Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) is a refundable tax credit available to working families and individuals. The IRS estimates that hundreds of people living right here in Florence County are eligible but don't file to receive the money!
This money can make a huge difference to a family living paycheck to paycheck, making it possible for them to do things many of us take for granted: repair the family car, get needed medical or dental attention, pay for quality childcare, or pay past due bills.
