Florence Volunteers Gear Up For United Way's 25th Annual 'Day of Caring'

FLORENCE, S.C. - You may see dozens of volunteers out and about Friday, taking part in various projects that show how much businesses in Florence treasure their community.
The United Way is holding its 25th annual Day of Caring in Florence, where hundreds of volunteers help organizations with clean-up and maintenance projects as a kind community service.
This year more than 400 volunteers from 32 companies and organizations will be completing at least 80 projects across town.
The Day of Caring campaign was started in 1992, and since then more than 5,900 volunteers have participated in 1,240 projects.
This year's participants will meet at 7:30 a.m. for a kickoff breakfast at First Presbyterian Church, and begin projects at assigned locations around 9 a.m.
